Hi folks,

We have a Hotpoint washing machine and just had the kitchen floor flooded with water coming from underneath the machine, during the wash cycle we did hear a lot of noise but assumed it was zips of coats against the door glass. (we did have a problem a few weeks ago when machine wouldn't drain, but fixed that by taking a bit of material out of filter at front bottom of machine)

Hope its maybe something to do with water waste hose pipe at back but if its something more serious such as pump, what do you think it might cost to fix?
Probably if it cost too much we would just buy a new machine. Any advice gratefullly appreciated.

Tip it backward against a wall or worktop, see if you can see where it's coming from.
There maybe just a pipe loose or a split.

make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

If the noise you heard was objects from pockets rattling around between the inner metal and outer plastic drums, then you could well have a hole in the drum which is terminal. Or it could be any one of a dozen other things, as above tip it back or just take the back off and see if you can see where it's coming from.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

OP, I'd check that you replace any pipe stops when you cleaned the filter. Also check for errant coins which sometimes block the pipes - you might be able to squeeze the pipe and feel them stuck in there. I had problems with a blockage/leaking and turned out there was a 2p coin stuck in the pipe which must have been spun around and sometimes blocked things up. Our waste pipe needs a clean every 6 months or so from getting gunked up. Really all needs replacing as it doesn't flow quitew right, but not got round to it yet.
