Smart Meter Display not adding Standing Charge

Hi
I have recently had Smart Meters installed by Shell Energy with a chameleon IHD6 display.

All seems to be working well, except the remote display is not adding the gas standing charge at midnight, the total remains at zero. However it does add the standing charge for electric.

In the menus the display does show the unit costs and standing charges for both gas and electric, so it appears to know about the standing charge, but just doesn't  add it on.

Where is the problem please? Is it a fault with the software in the display or an error by the energy supplier?

Thanks

It is not the In House Display. What type (manufacturer/model) of comms hub do you have? I am guessing that it is a WNC 1. I have had this issue for the past 2 years and my supplier has yet to move things forward. It gets complicated in that comms hubs - which establish the Home Area Network link to your IHD - are the responsibility of the network provider (The Data Communications Centre) not individual suppliers. It gets further complicated in that individual meter manufacturers are responsible for producing and certifying any firmware updates. The latter requires extensive testing with the Network provider (The DCC).

So that leaves us with suppliers who are responsible for providing you with serviceable metering equipment etc who have no levers to pull. To put this mad state of affairs into context, Octopus bills many of its tariffs on half hour usage reported by the meter - not meter index readings. My meter - along with many others - stopped reporting half hour usage data for import and export just over 6 months ago. The meter returned an empty XML file. A firmware update was rolled out to my meter 2 days ago.

All you can do is report the problem to Shell but do not expect a quick fix.

My smart meter also stopped giving the daily charge way back in 2020 around Aril or May, Before that it gave the original suppliers daily charge of 26.1p it kept that with OFTM and for some months into by move to Bulb as the meter also was on BG's free time electric plan. My IMD broke in to 2015/16 flooding, water damaged falling into the water.

Someone please tell me what money is

    Thank you for your replies.

My comms hub is an SKU1. I presumed it was a problem with the IDH software, but it sounds like the problem is a bit more convoluted.

Sounds like I'll have to live with it for the time being.

Shell have offered me a part refund on my bill, so I did get something back for complaining!

    Cheers
