Hi,

Just wondering if someone has been to America recently and whether an Antigen Test is sufficient for entry?
The American CDC site advises that the test is acceptable but when numerous Testing companies were contacted, they suggested their highest PCR Fit to Fly test.
Are they overselling?

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Not sure you are going to be overwhelmed with responses since the US banned anyone who had been within the EU or UK 14 days prior to travel to the US in March last year and that situation hasn't changed. Just how were you planning on getting there as you cannot fly from the UK unless you have a US passport?

I think the OP is intending studying in US. Students are allowed entry.

    Thanks, that is correct.
    Students are among the exceptions.
I was probably hoping that there might be the odd US citizen (of the thousands living in the UK) on these fora might be able to help.

I hope you get some help and please don't get put off by the rather pointless nitpicking response you got above.

Just to update, I spoke with a friendly expert in person at one of the testing centres and they have confirmed that the Antigen test is sufficient for entry to the US.

So now hopefully, someone else in future who finds this information elusive or testing companies unhelpful (conveniently suggesting PCR) will read this and save MONEY and TIME.
