Just for the avoidance of doubt: this forum isn't reserved to people of older age, nor does being astute about money have to end once you are a pensioner. It's also called the Money Saving Expert site, and keeping money in 0% accounts when there are better alternatives is hardly showing any expertise. Perhaps people should ask themselves whether they'd bother bending down if they came across a £20 note in the street or whether they'd consider this too much effort, or scrabbling around for perks and freebies, or - hilariously - losing their dignity.. Sure, it's your right to leave the £20 for the next person who can be bothered.4

In my opinion, and it may be only my opinion, there comes a point when you stop being just money savvy and become obsessive about it. I really cannot be bothered opening an account, providing id, waiting for the opening and moving £1000 to earn £20....next year.
Someone else can have it, with my blessing.
I'd have to have a lot of money to move about to make it worthwhile, and I haven't.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.7 -
With regards to being on MSE and being an expert, I am a member of several car forums for older models which most of the members have either scrapped or sold. But the forums remain, and people still show an interest in cars in general.
Some threads, on here, are just general chat, that doesn't mean they are any less valid than the ones that give advice, answer problems or degenerate into a shouting match. I am interested in what people have to say, both experts and non experts.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.1 -

It seems my original post has been hijacked into something I have no interest in reading. My post simply asked whether my money was safe with a particular bank.Unless you have something to add to the original question please go and start another thread.4

If I ask a question I can't then demand the answers specifically deal with my query. A conversation tends to meander somewhat. Imagine in real life if we demanded that people go away and start a new conversation when we felt they were not answering our specific question! It's not like we're on Question Time. If you don't like reading what other members have to say, scroll on. Really.
To be more specific, I wouldn't touch Monzo with a barge pole.

That is until some scare stories start doing the rounds & you get another Northern Rock.....
Thankfully with Monzo, there will be no queueing around the block to get your cash out. 🤦♀️Life in the slow lane0 -
