Putting the father's name on a child's birth certificate does not automatically give the father any rights. It just means that he is the baby's father. Every child has a right to know who both their parents are. Surely it's every person's right to make their own decisions about who they do and do not want in their lives? It could be that your child chooses never to see his/her father. But that should be their choice. You yourself say you resent your mum for not putting your dad's name on yours.
If your baby's father is considered to be too dangerous to have anything to do with his children (it doesn't sound very promising) then obviously you want to be protective but still that child has a right to know who he is and to have his name on their birth certificate.
It doesn't sound like he's going to be a very reliable source of financial support anyway but he is still the father and your child will appreciate having both parents named on his/her certificate. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. @MalMonroe
the OP is aware of the the laws of this country . That allowing the father to be named on the birth certificate conferees parental responsibility on him . So really why do you go around the forums saying things that aren’t true ?Yes I have read your signature, basically I make up my own facts and never come back to defend them 🤔.2 -
