Hi all
I am currently waiting for a managing agent pack to come through for the sale of my leasehold flat. They advertised an express service for £405 (3-5 working days) and standard for £360 inclusive of VAT which was advertised at 15 working days. I paid for the standard service on the 23rd July as after enquiring with them they said they weren't doing the Express service at the moment.
I've since had an email to say that they process them in a queue and it might take longer than15 days which is very stressful especially as I know that another flat in this building was sold in May so apart from printing out my accounts they are likely to be identical.
My questions are for those of you selling leasehold properties:
How much did your MA pack cost and how long did it take?
Cant help thinking I'm being ripped off esp as leaseholders with right to manage we actually employ the MAs!! So it would helpful to manage my expectations
Thanks

Mine was £300 and took about 3 days. I told them I was selling as soon as I put it on the market so they had the heads up a request would come soon enough and so that gave them time to start getting the info ready. I did that with the last leasehold flat too and worked well. But, on both occasions the MA were lovely small companies who couldn't do enough to help. It might not work with big firms0

I completed on the sale of my flat a couple of weeks ago, I can tell you that the management pack arrived probably around 3-4 weeks after my solicitor requested it. However, it did involve multiple calls to chase them, and on some of those they erroneously claimed they had already sent it - which made me think that if I hadn’t constantly chased, it would have been forgotten about
I remember them being awfully slow when I bought the flat, too!
So my advice would be to keep on top of them, with ideally both you and your solicitor chasing at least once a week…1 -
I paid about £450 and it took about 3 weeks from what I remember.0

Ours was £150 + VAT and was turned round in less than 48 hours.
Unfortunately the first sale fell through but for the second (which completed) we had to apply a second time as the information initially supplied was only valid for 3 months.
The managing agent charged a nominal additional fee for updating the information and again was supplied within 48 hours.0 -
I had to pay £456 for mine - absolute rip off as theres pretty much nothing in it - and i had to pay that twice because my sale fell through last year (because of them i might add!) and thanks to their incompetence i couldn't resell for over 6 months - had to pay the entire fee again. Will never touch a leasehold property again as long as i live0
