When I was about 15 I had about ten warts on my hands and had tried all sorts to get rid of them.

I was referred to the local hospital where they were frozen with liquid nitrogen. It took a couple of visits to get rid of all of them but I can assure you it worked for me and touch wood, I have never had one since.

Out of 4 children one suffered constantly with verrucas and one with warts (though not at the same time). After trying everything recommended by GP and chemist etc over months left them well alone. Eventually they all went by themselves. Admittedly, my son had the worse time as the warts were very visible (all over his hands) so other children weren't very kind but after trying everything he insisted we leave them alone so i suppose it depends how much your child is upset by them. I am now reliably informed that they have built up a resistance to this virus and shouldnt suffer again. Seemed to work for us. Perhaps mother nature knows best!!

will try the tea tree on my foot ( I should have some left- I used to soak nappies in it). My wart came about when my partner bit me on the finger (it was a 'play bite'- no skin was broken). He has no warts or verruccas. (And of course I walk around barefoot).

    Fran,
When I was a nipper my hands were covered in them.  I went to the butchers with my Mum and he spotted them.  He said he could get rid of them and proceeded to rub bacon fat into them.  He then wrapped the bacon fat in some grease proof paper and told me to bury it in the garden and as the fat decomposed so the warts would drop off.
A few weeks later I was in his shop again and he asked me to show him my hands, the warts were still there and looking suprised he asked me what I had done with the fat.  I told him I buried it as instructed, he then asked if I had taken it out of the paper to which I replied NO  :-[.  I was instructed to go home dig up the fat and bury it without the paper.  This I done and to my suprise within 2 weeks the warts started to drop off, they never came back. :D
That's amazing because my mum tells me that when she was but a young 'un, she suffered from warts on her forehead. She was told to wipe the area with a raw pork chop and bury it in the garden, the idea that as the meat rotted, so would the warts.

Within a couple of weeks they were gone and never returned. :o

I used bacon, rubbed it on my toe (wart) and buried it in the garden. It went shortly after, never to return anywhere. That was a long time ago.
  • we had a horse with very bad sarcoids (horsey warts) used tea tree oil - went (took a couple of months but we could see them shrinking & 1 of them was 2" long & 1" across & weeping) so highly recommend tea tree oil
