Fran,
When I was a nipper my hands were covered in them. I went to the butchers with my Mum and he spotted them. He said he could get rid of them and proceeded to rub bacon fat into them. He then wrapped the bacon fat in some grease proof paper and told me to bury it in the garden and as the fat decomposed so the warts would drop off.
A few weeks later I was in his shop again and he asked me to show him my hands, the warts were still there and looking suprised he asked me what I had done with the fat. I told him I buried it as instructed, he then asked if I had taken it out of the paper to which I replied NO :-[. I was instructed to go home dig up the fat and bury it without the paper. This I done and to my suprise within 2 weeks the warts started to drop off, they never came back. What is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.0 -

what about verruccas (sp?)? ???
Mine has not responded to pharmacy creams or homeopathy. I also have one wart so will try those mentioned in article.
I've also heard the sap from a dandilion will get rid of a wart and that did work for me when I remembered to do it often enough!0 -
Warts and Varruca's are the same family. I had a vurucca's that wouldn't budge. GP froze them - made it worse. Buzukka - Pants. Podiatrist shaved them - made them bleed, didn't work. Banana skins - yucky.
So I tried lemon oil (tisserand range) and tea tree oil and I have no idea which one did the trick, but it went.
I used to dab the area with a soaked cotton bud at night and let it do its business.
I think I am right in saying that warts and varucca's are viral. My GP told me that is total rubbish about being able to catch them from other people, e.g. swimming pools. I have no idea if that is true.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
varrukas and warts are highly highly infectious I was always led to beleive
if theyre viral then they will be surely??

I've heard that warts are only infectious if the skin on them is broken.
(Anyway, where did you spring from Cathy? Have a nice hol?)Torgwen.....................

I don't really know. I am not an expert. I was given the impression, if you get them them thats you for life, and if you don't you have suffcient anti-bodies to ensure you won't get any warts and varucca's.
I think, as with anything medical, you can have arguments for and against.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
Alison, my son has warts on his hands, nothing will shift them, so I'll try the oils. Thanks ;DBulletproof0
