    I find it hard to believe that it's a coincidence they closed my accounts the day after I had two stalled credit card applications at Natwest followed by a successful/completed application at RBS.  
    It's a coincidence because if they'd believed those applications to be fraudulent, they'd have handled it entirely differently and probably given you a protective marker instead.

    Assessment of account behaviour as has happened to you takes place over a much longer period.

    I doubt it's a coincidence, even if it isn't being treated as potential fraud.

    Multiple account applications in a short space of time are known to trigger 'account reviews', which is why whenever I've faced an issue at application which I can't get past, I will ring and try to continue my application over the phone.

    I doubt there is anything the OP can do about it now tho, sadly.
