Travel insurance if you get COVID abroad

My biggest concern about travelling on holiday now is if we were to catch COVID or be asked to self isolate shortly after arriving at our destination, therefore the holiday is effectively wasted as we would be confined to our hotel room for the duration. I understand that a lot of travel insurance policies will cover you for medical expenses if you catch COVID whilst away but is there any chance of claiming for compensation for effectively losing your holiday?

You can probably find someone willing to insure you, but you will probably also find that the cost of the insurance is more than the cost of the holiday. Travelling abroad at the moment has extra risks above and beyond the usual risks for international travel, those risks are actually quite high, although the consequences are largely financial.

Possibly. You would need to look for policies which include cover for curtailment, then read the small print.
