Air Source heat pump software issue
Options
Hi all,
Ive just had an email from Mitsubishi saying that my Ecodan requires a software update. Theyre asking for a few details about the property address and the heatpump itself.
Is this legit? Has anyone else received a similar email?
Its been sent from the address lesqualityservices@meuk.mee.com
Its looks legit, but Im getting increasingly paranoid as I get older!
Thanks

It looks legit but I don't blame you for being cautious. You could always phone their Ecodan homeowner helpline on 0161 866 6064 just to be belt and bracesSorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.1

Just in case it helps anyone, this is the contents of the email:
We are writing to you in relation to your Ecodan Heating system, which we have identified requires a software update.
Please see the attached letter for details regarding the software update.
When responding to this email can you state your W112 reference number and confirm the following information is correct:
- Property address
- Model and serial number of the outdoor unit as per the details on the letter
- Is your unit at ground level or at height, if at height please confirm how high from the ground and if ladders are required
- Please provide the best contact number to reach you on
Yours Sincerely,

Can you ask your installer? My expectation is that any software updates for my heat pump (not a Mitsubishi) would be installed as part of an annual service.Reed1

Just in case anyone else has the same concern, this is legitimate. I phoned 0161 866 6064 and they were very helpful. I booked the engineer time slot while on the call too. (youll need your serial no. to hand)0

Hi. I had the same email and like you I thought this may be a scam. However I booked an appointment which was for two days ago, Wednesday 11th but they never turned up. I had an apologetic phone call saying the engineer just ran out of time as he had to do a lot of travelling between appointments which I accepted. The appointment has been rescheduled for Next Monday. They say access to the outdoor unit only is needed. So watch this space.1
