My husband is blind. We have recently moved and he has been getting lost. Is there an app that we could have on our phones that I would know where he is? I have an Iphone and his phone is a Samsung.

It can be miles off course and paint an impression that somebody was in the middle of the canal one second and then on the other side of a dual carriageway the next.It may be a better option in the short term to accompany your husband until he can find his own way around (I presume he has accessories like guide canes and maybe a guide dog?)1

GeoZilla is an app that works across iPhone and Android well and is free.
As per above GPS apps can sometimes be inaccurate indoors and in built up areas, but outdoors with good view of the sky gives a pretty accurate result every time. Some phones have settings to adjust GPS accuracy so that can be improved by taking more samples but reduces battery life.
You could also try using an activity track app like Strava - with this you can share your route and in my experience these are 100% accurate - is use Strava for cycling and I'd say it is always accurate to a couple of metres of my location. However your husband would need to remember to start tracking before each outdoor trip so that might not be ideal.
Also your husband could utilise route planning with Google maps where it give voice prompts of direction to take, it is entirely possible through voice commands to ask the phone to guide you home and it will speak the directions you need to take.1 -
Some suggestions here might help:

Google accounts finds our phones pretty accurately.
Can the map app be set up to use voice commands to give voice directions to get him home walking.

You can set google maps to share his location with you at all times. save this as a short-cut on your phone and you can click directly to Google maps to see his location.
I use this with my son.0
