Dual energy switch???
Hi all
I am locked in to an dual EDF November 2021 gas and electric deal. Electric is 19p per kw and gas is 2.44p. I know who sale prices are due to rising win October but everything I am looking at currently is massively dearer than this tariff.
I am worth waiting till November then switch or bite bullet now as the is £60 exit fee. Gut tells me to wait till 49 days before end of tariff and then switch
Regards
Owen Griffiths

You are not "locked in", you are free to go at any time. Subject to £60 fees which don't apply 49 days before the end of the switch.. And you don't need to wait until November. Depending on the date given you can switch again between Sep 13 and Oct 12.

Typially atm it is cheaper for individual suppliers rather than dual fuel so it may be worth checking out how those compare & particularly for the more expensive of the 2 (probably gas if that is what you heat with)? The "cap" goes up from 1st October so depending upon when your contracts expire in November that may be more than 49 days before your contracts expiry.
Whether it is worth biting the bullet of the penalties vs the additional costs of the increased tariffs will depend upon how much energy you use.
I can recommend Zog for gas only - basic but reliable supplier (I have no connection other than as a customer for several years).1 -
Most suppliers will not apply exit fees if you ask to transfer to their SVT. As this is deemed to be a ‘mutual variation of contract’ then the tariff change has to be actioned within 5 days. Once you are on the SVT, you can switch away with no exit fees.DaOwenG said:Hi all
