British Gas' electricity bill seems too high

From later this month British Gas want to change my fees for electricity to -

23.7p day

11.8 night and standing charge  27.4

this is a fixed tariff for two years.    Shall I change to someone else?

The variable is cheaper

The variable price is subject to a price cap with an increase announced from the 1st October. Do a full market price comparison based on your actual day and night usage over the last 12 months before sticking with BG.

@textbook  Make sure you are using an ACTUAL ANNUAL CONSUMPTION which you can calculate for yourself from your bills - look for bills 12 months apart where the meter reads have the letter A or C against them (don't use ones with E)

Variable may be cheaper now but can be changed several times over the 2 years.
