I Just received an email from a Business Manager of Tower Hamlets council, telling me that there will be no more ARG payments for businesses, Tower Hamlets Council have decided to use the ARG funds supplied to them for struggling local businesses to finance other (Vanity) projects.
Anyone else out there had a problem applying for the final ARG payment which was issued to local councils I believe in April.

Oh BTW, it is in excess of £6,000.000. Not a figure to be sneezed at £6 Million for Tower Hamlets to do with as they wish, with no comeback. The money all supplied by the Government to help small businesses all around the Country0

Their website doesn't say anything about the ARG funds being used elsewhere, but it does seem to say that applications are closed and successful applicants should have received their award by now. It will depend on the fine detail of this central government grant to local authorities as to whether the council can use the funds as they see fit or if there are restrictions on its use.
I'd write to the council's Director of Finance (or whatever the appropriate title) to ask for clarification. I'd also speak to my local elected Councillor, it's what they are for, to act as a point of contact.1 -

If you read the T & Cs on the Government website it actually tells councils that they can use the money for other purposes, I’m just peed off that they have kept it under wraps without bothering to tell any local business people that are still struggling to get back on their feet, that no more grants will be forthcoming.0 -
