Surprised they let you go on an unaccompanied test drive in this day and age but it sounds like a pleasant experience. It also sounds like you've bought a BMW Approved Used which comes with excellent benefits on warranty, roadside recovery and MOT repairs.

From memory they still give you the tear off slip but give your whole V5 document to them and let them steer you through it being a reputable main dealer.

Just remember to have a good final check around your new car before driving off - we spotted a small stone chip in the windscreen which the dealership was very apologetic about and got it sorted. I certainly don't think they were trying to get away with it.

Oh and check which side the filler cap is on so you don't go to the wrong side of the pump and feel a prat like I do.
Haha I think there will be an arrow on the dash showing where the fuel cap is located!
My BMW 3 series doesn't but others might perhaps.  The only cars I've owned with that feature have been Fords.
My 2012 320d has this ->| which is supposed to be an arrow pointing at a line with a pump symbol just to the right. I though this was pointing to the filler on the left hand side but after queuing, upon getting out I realised it's on the right. I don't do dragging the hose over the roof of the car so I drove off in a huff!
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

I've bought two brand new cars in the past week, no GAP on either of them.
Never needed it in 37 years of driving, calculated risk I won't need it now.
Almost tangible changes in the sales people's attitudes when they realise they're only getting a 'bare bones' deal from me and no GAP/Paint/alloy insurance commission.

I overpaid by £1k during bank transfer. I completely forgot I had paid £1k deposit on credit card.

!!!!!!. I hope they'll refund without fuss seeing as they're BMW approved dealer. I can't wait till it is morning and to speak with the sales person...

edit: still can't believe it FS!

It doesn't help you now but the last 3 or 4 cars I've bought I've just paid the balance with my debit card, that way I can't make any mistakes like wrong account/amount etc.!

I paid £1k on credit card to get S75 protection and rest via bank transfer.

I did get a prompt response from the sales person saying they'll refund it back to my card in person when I come to collect the car. good news!

Look at GAP ins like this.

How many cars have you written off?
If it's none, then why bother wasting money on something you have not needed in the past.

I have written off 1 but it wasn't my fault. I think its worth £290 to cover potentially £10k to £20k over 5 year period.

I have purchased a policy for 5 years anyways!

    You paid £1k on card
Then £1k too much by bank transfer
They will refund £1k back to card.

I suspect that means the amount paid by card is then NIL and no S75.

I think you need the £1k refund by bank transfer back to the account or by cash.

£1k was refunded to my debit card in person today. Same debit card which I used to transfer the money.

£1k on credit card is still there.

They sent some documents to my email saying they talked me through addons but I didn't purchase but they didnt send the car receipt to my email though FML. They did show me it in person. !!!!!!.

Need to email them requesting for it now...🤦‍♂️

Does anyone know if I should recieve any paperwork saying BMW 1 year warranty or something as it is BMW approved? Or is the purchase receipt sufficient.

I have registered on My BMW app using vin number but cannot see anything about warranty. I guess it is stored on their system.
