    - Much better rates can be achieved with low LTV loans on other sites

Any examples, please? I've got a reasonable amount coming out of Zopa much faster than I thought now, so would like somewhere else to put it that can give a good return..?

I feel a little disappointed; they built their bank on our backs and no longer need us. However, I've not lost anything and made a reasonable return compared to my other investments. I do hope if they ever IPO, they will look after us.

Great news for those of us that have been trying to escape. The returns at Zopa haven’t really been worth the risk for a long time now, especially when the 3 month plus cash drag was taken into account. Having our defaulted loans in arrears repaid in full to stop the closure dragging on is a bonus.
That's the point about high returns!  There is a risk   For this 'risk' the returns weren't what was hoped for.

Got a free 20 quid off them when they opened lent that out and never bothered with my money. The returns never seemed worth it. What year did they start again?

They were founded in 2004. They launched the platform in 2005.

I never invested in P2P because it's performance through an economic down turn etc had not been shown, but mostly because there was not an open market to sell. I'll stick with cash and big low cost index funds.
