    Stress is a very subjective condition. Could you not return early (eg after one week self certification) and avoid the issue?

    Remember doctors will take the easy route and sign you off at the drop of a hat. Doesn't mean you have to be off.
    2 years later and I have just seen this reply…. I was stressed because my sister had been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, she passed away this year. Yes, I could have worked but I would not have been productive, stress can be debilitating. Anyway house competition went ahead with no issues. Thanks for 

    My sympathies OP. I lost both my sister and one of my dearest friends to ovarian cancer. Horrid disease....I'm glad you were able to complete with no issues and hope 2023 will be a happier year for you.

    So sorry to hear your update.  I lost a long-standing friend a week ago from the same.  Hope 2024 is a much better year for you and your family.
