Break down of benefits claim?

My mum will be applying for WHD this year again but with a new provider. It says they may require evidence, although I believe they have ways to check with the DWP you meet the criteria?
If she rings up will she be able to get a benefit letter breaking it down into the relevant bits?
For example specifying the gets SDP so if she is asked for evidence she has that to hand in advance.

They usually check dirrectly with DWP what benefits exactly a person claims. If she wants she can ring DWP and ask for a letter with the full breakdown of her ESA claim. I very much doubt that this will be needed because i've been with 3 different energy suppliers since the WHD started and i've never had to give proof of benefits.

An award letter for the relevant benefit that qualifies her for it should suffice, if they were to ask for evidence. But as poppy says they usually check directly with DWP; I can only imagine they might ask the customer for proof if DWP can't confirm it.0

I've been claiming the Warm Home Discount since 2011 when it started. I've only been asked for proof once in that time.
Proof of the sdp isn't necessary, just the general up rating letter to show she receives income-related benefit and the corresponding disability benefit

That’s not true according to the suppliers broader group criteria:Nannytone said:I've been claiming the Warm Home Discount since 2011 when it started. I've only been asked for proof once in that time.

If she's claiming Income Related ESA in the Support Group then this will automatically qualify her for the WHD, which it does state this in the copy and paste you posted above. The SDP is not needed here. This is because the Enhanced disability premium is automatically paid in this case. Evidence isn't usually needed, as advised.

Yes I saw the earlier advice. Thanks. Although it’s not ESA. She claims IB JSA with SDP & PIP.0
