What To Ask For?

Hello :)

I'm getting more than a little hassle from my mother who keeps asking me what I want for Christmas.

I don't really want anything - I've asked her just for a surprise so she can choose whatever it is as I know she wouldn't accept 'I'm fine, please wait for something I want later in the year'.

She wouldn't agree with giving to charity either, I keep getting told that charity starts at home and I have to choose something.

I don't have any particular hobbies, I don't smoke - I have what little bit of drink in I'd need, I don't especially like chocolate or flowers - jewelery is lost on me as I only have a few bits but they have great sentimental value and they're what I wear. It doesn't have to cost a lot but she has her heart set on getting me something.

Does anyone have any ideas please? :)

    What about Oxfam Unwrapped?

Then rather than just sending off £x to charity that could be spent on anything, you can pick something that appeals to you and it will be appreciated by other people.

  • How about a subscription to a magazine or club?
  • why don't you ask her to give you a voucher for a shop so you can get something you like later?

Or ask her to make a date with you where the two of you can go out, have a nice lunch, maybe get your hair done and go shopping?

I second that, why have someone waste money on you buying you something just for the sake of it when that money could be put towards something that will make a real difference to someone else's life?
