Samsung -

I will try to keep this short!
Placed an order for an induction hob & other items with Samsung online 7.5.21. We are having our kitchen built and yesterday (8.7.21) the fitter was ready to install the hob. Opened the box to find the glass cracked. Immediately contacted Samsung to request either a repair or replacement. I was offered a £10 voucher towards a new hob after 5hours of phone calls and live chats. surely this is a breach of The consumer Rights Act 2015 - I believed consumers could request a repair/replacement upto 6months after purchase for such damaged products

You've had it sitting for 2 months and haven't checked it?

I imagine Samsung think you've broken it yourself in the meantime.
  • I can understand that thought, but as we’re undergoing a renovation it was placed in the one untouched room until we had the space to unpackage and safely install. With hindsight we should have un packaged all the items delivered by samsung but we simply didnt have the space and i thought they would have been safer wrapped up out of the way.

They don't have to offer repair / replacement for a damaged item.
That is for an item that breaks down or stops working so it is assumed within the first 6 months that it is a manufacturing fault.
Your best bet is probably to appeal to their better nature, make a complaint, kick up a fuss on social media etc.and hope for the best.
