Don't/won't have a power washer, and the objective is to minimise the amount of effort needed with the yard brush on account of my shoulder problems. If I can make the stuff dead first, the brushing's got to be easier. I hope ...kazwookie said:How about a gentle power wash and a stiff brush

Just back to report that urine worked after spraying twice, 48 hours apart, as did 50% malt vinegar (5% acidity). So the choice is down to your preferred residual whiff - urinal or chip shop.

Soda crystals.
Sprinkle on before rain is due or dampen slightly after sprinkling on.
About 99p for a 1kg bag.

I wonder if Baking Soda and vinegar would work?Does a treat on drains and steel.I'm sulking because when I had the slab path professionally laid it went from 20yrs of dirt to almost like new. He said just brush with a stiff brush - doesn't work for me.I did use a wire brush on the pavement edge outside my last house - and a hoe - and vinegar. Yes the trick was to kill it then brush it up and it was easier.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
