Hi all
I received a parking charge notice from CP Plus. However I do not remember seeing any signs dictating time spent on the car park. Can I send an appeal?

How to do this is all in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, including an initial appeal template to use. CP Plus do not meet the requirements of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4) in order to hold the keeper liable so you can use that to try to get this cancelled. In the Announcement there should reference to dealing with a Smart Parking Ltd charge - they too don't meet PoFA requirements, so look at how we suggest dealing with Smart Parking and apply the same process to your dealings with CPP.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Do not reveal the diver's identity either on here in in any correspondence with the PPC.
Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people in law.
If you were An Occupant of the car then you may or may not have noticed signage. That does not mean that An Occupant was driving.
The keeper should send the appeal template in blue text they will find in the NEWBIES Announcement, as well as going back to take pics of the site and signage.
They should also complain to the landowner and their MP.
The Driver should sit on their hands in the corner and say and do nothing.
It is also imperative that everyone who comes here for help contributes to the government consultation about parking charges. By doing this you will be helping us to help others including yourself and any of your friends and family who may be victims of this unregulated industry.
Please get them to respond to the consultation as well.

Good morning, I thought I would share details of a recent CP plus parking charge notice that I had slapped on the windscreen of my car whilst parked at a CP plus Hospital car park.
My vehicle had a ticket on the windscreen for "not being parked wholly in a bay" because one rear wheel was straddling the white line of the space.
Parking like this was necessary because of the other vehicles having parked too close (the rest of my car was within the space)
However the lines of the space were somewhat faded, disappeared throughout the line (so there was no visible whole lines).. you could see the white lines but they were very faded.
Rather than speaking to CP plus themselves, who would inevitably reject any appeal, I spoke with the landowner (NHS trust) Via PALS (patient liaison service).. who initially fobbed me off saying that they couldn't cancel tickets for the external parking company.. which isn't true because the landowner can cancel tickets issued.. they are the landowner and have employed CP plus to do their parking work on their land. They issued the contract to CP plus. (Which is always the case, someone needs to employ them and allow them to work on their private land)
After explaining the lines are not clearly visible, that the charge is unjust and an extortionately high amount ,(£80) and after a little back and forth with PALS over email..but ultimately asking nicely and explaining that I wanted to discuss the cancellation of the ticket with the head of facilities at the hospital, they then eventually cancelled the ticket about 10 days after it was issued.
The threads on this site are helpful In so much as if that approach had failed, there are several other avenues of appeal to explore.. importantly do not pay, always appeal!!

As a side note, and as explained in the newbies thread.. but possibly not in these terms:
The keeper of the car, the driver of the car and the owner of the car can be all entirely different people.
It's important not to lie, but do not give them the information they ask at the first hurdle, you don't need to.
They want the driver, the person who parked there.
But will settle for the keeper (as the updated legislation allows the keeper of the car to be held responsible for tickets)
But the keeper and the owner can be different people.
You can refer to yourself as the owner of the car. (not necessarily the keeper) in correspondence to companies.
As the V5 registration document states the keeper is the person responsible for taxing and insuring the vehicle, and is not always the owner.
Might help..2
