Hello All
I have already been saving lots of money each month from the support of these forums, I’m hoping to save some more.
I have already been saving lots of money each month from the support of these forums, I’m hoping to save some more.
I am wondering if you can direct me to a good energy switching company or advise me on who is currently providing the cheapest dual fuel in England.
I currently have a prepayment meter with boost but am being given some money so I’ll clear my debt with them and move back on to monthly DD as it is cheaper.

I currently use about £120 a month electric and £40 gas, 3 bed 2 reception rooms and 1 adult 3 children in the home, we are all out mostly during the day.
Thanks For your help.

It is generally considered that separate suppliers are cheaper than dual fuels.
If there was a cheapest supplier everyone would use it.
You need to use a comparison site like Which? or Citizens Advice and use you ACTUAL ANNUAL CONSUMPTION in kWh's (do not use £'s or number of rooms or number of people)
Judging by your pre-pay of £120 for electric - that is very high. Are you using electric showers, panel or radiant heaters ? Use the gas for heating - it's much cheaper.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Sadly, it doesn’t work like that. Tariffs change by region and your predicted usage in kWhs/year. You need to run your own price comparison. It is often cheaper - but not as convenient - to choose separate suppliers for gas and electricity.0

The £120 includes the £24 a month debt pay back so I suppose really £100.Everything runs on gas apart from heating and water. We have 3 TVs in the home and all 3 are on at least 2 hours a day, 2 TVs at least 4/5.Not to mention all the device charging and I’ve noticed my eldest son is using a fan all night at the moment.I will look at some of the comparison sites thanks you.0

@Mum2Boys_2 Until you've cleared that debt pay back I would expect your present supplier to block any transfer.
Even at £100 your electricity usage is excessive - do lot of digging if what appliances are being used - read that meter at least daily and keep a log as to what you were doing eg cooking, dishwasher, tumble dryer. Dig deep - there looks to be a lot of money to be saved here.
You may find that you have to change suppliers in stages. You first need to find a supplier (Eon think) who will readily change your gas prepay - then you can swop. Don't forget you will probably have to pay your first DD up front, even before a new supplier takes over.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
