Concert tickets refund

I had purchased 2 tickets for will young and James morrison and 2 tickets for Keane. Both concerts last June and both cancelled. I thought the money was automatically refunded but have discovered it wasn't and so have emailed ticketmaster who have advised I will not be getting it back as they no longer have the money. Their Web site advised that it would automatically be refunded. Is there anything I can do about this?

Were the concerts rescheduled rather than cancelled?

If you paid by card you could try them, although be prepared for the argument that Ticketmaster are just an agent etc etc0
