Apps or web

Is there any benefit over using an app for credit cards or any banking in fact over using a web page ? Is the app more secure ?

You may find that some providers apps are more limited in what you can do compared to web, but both are equally (in)secure, depending on your approach to digital security.

How do you mean approach to digital security ? I was paying for a vpn but then after asking for advice on the forum, I was told a waste of money by most of the answers. I use iPad and iMac at home, and never do any online banking stuff out of the house.

Whether you password protect devices, share them, leave things logged in, write down passwords etc.

I’ve quite a few banking apps on my phone, quite like the convenience of them. I do check them regularly for errant transactions.

Im not convinced that many people are going to try to hack my phone, when there are much easier fish to fry in persuading gullible people they will get a parcel if they enter their credit card details on a dodgy website.  Most issues are about human error, which is the weakest link in the chain generally, rather than the amazing technological skills of the scammers.

    Use both.

It's handy while out to be able to use a app, rather than have to logon to a website.

apps are more secure than desktop.banking / browser by far.
  • I use the apps because I'm lazy and fingerprint login is way simpler than trying to remember the 20 character passwords I generate for web banking. Apps give me all I need
  • Ok thanks fir your replies 😊
