    Morning.
I have just had two sugar free days just because I didn't fancy anything sweet and when DH asked if I wanted a biscuit with my afternoon cuppa, I said no, so that was that.
This morning however, I needed to grab something quick for breakfast while working a morning shift so I had four biscuits with my cuppa.
Two sugar-free days - and turning down the biscuits- is a great result, Jazee.  If the four biscuits kept you going, they were worth it.  If you are anything like me, that could have been a whole packet of cookies in the past!  Have you ever tried N@kd bars?  They have sugar but it is from fruit vs added sugar and I've liked most of the flavours I've tried.  There are lots of recipes to make similar ones, if you enjoy baking and have the time.  My baking isn't great so I tend to stick to the shop-bought version and I find them quite handy to grab and go and tend to keep one in my bag 'just in case'.

Hope everyone has been having a good week.  I have been sugar-free so far today but that will change later as I will be having some cake.  Tomorrow and Sunday will definitely be sugary but I hope to be fairly restrained as I'd like to build myself up for a sugar-free Monday.  Have a great weekend :)

Morning all, and welcome to the week!
Cookie, thank you for your kind wishes.  The birthday was fab, we spent Saturday recovering from it because we both went into it tired.  Belovéd was treated to a share of a bottle of champagne at breakfast by friends which always sends him to sleep and I slept very badly the night before anyway because I had too much so called decaffinated coffee for breakfast on his actual birthday.  However, despite all the work that went into it the birthday dinner with friends on the Friday it was well worth the effort but it did mean that Saturday was written off which is disruptive but not the end of the world.  And overall, considering it was his 75th and C19 and all, it was a great success.
Jazee, well done on turning down the biscuits when offered - my usual habit is to say, 'Oh, go on then, since you asked' which is when my self-discipline collapses completely despite all my good intentions.  How's the snacking on crisps etc going?
I'm back in with avengence after over a month of indulging more than I intended, but a lot less than I used to before August when I started this Challenge.  I know this because overall I lost weight over the month of Advent / Christmas / New Year / Epiphany although it did yoyo a bit.  In the past my weight has just crept up and up, despite yoyoing.  On 15 August I weighed 69.1kgs, and this morning I weighed in at 66.9 so that's over 2 kgs knocked off, although the idea of this Challenge is not weightloss per se, but if cutting down on sugar doesn't result in weightloss overall, albeit very very gradual, something's probably not quite right with what I'm eating - like too much cheese.  Replacing sugar with fat isn't going to help with my cholesterol levels so I need to make sure I don't do that, and apparently I didn't over the multiple festivities which was what I was worried about.  And I did eat enough chocolate to satisfy my soul, sometimes more than I needed to but, all round, a lot less than I used to.
So, today I'm back on the no-added sugar-free thing and if I can stand it, more than just today this week.  If it's too hard then I might build back up to four and a half days a week, and I can last until Friday evening I'm pretty sure once I've done that but I'm not sure I'll ever make it through to a full five days a week.  Onwards and upwards!

    Better is good enough.

I ended up with three sugar free days last week.  Crisps are only allowed as a few with a sandwich lunch.
Today I have had jam on my toast, four chocolate hobnobs and a small dish of shrimps and bananas so not the best start to the week!  Lunch was noodles so not the healthiest diet so far today.  DH is doing roast lamb with lots of vegetables for our evening meal.

The sugar free days is three more than I managed so well done, Jazee.  It sounds as though you've got the crisps under control now, as well.  Today sounds rather nice, what with all of that and DH cooking roast lamb tonight!

And it all went wrong.  Ended the evening with a bar of chocolate and a handful of crisps!

Well I know that feeling!  Welcome back to the Normal Club, Jazee, where we're as good a gold for a bit and then let it all hang out - so to speak - just because we feel like it.   Hey ho, today's another day.
I managed it yesterday but rather wanted chocolate after the evening meal and that took quite a long time to wear off, basically until my tummy told my brain I'd had enough to eat so didn't need anything more.  Or at least, it felt like quite a long time, in reality probably only 20 minutes or so, but I did manage to resist so I'm happy with that.  I think I'll see if I can do a second day today.

Good morning!  Jazee, well done on the three days and good to know that you're only human after all :).  Fingers crossed for today!

Honey_Bear, great to hear that the big birthday weekend went well :).  Well done on your sugar-free start to the week!

Yesterday, I forgot that I was supposed to be having a sugar-free day until I was mid-chew on a slice of cake.  My family found it very funny!  I finished the cake and didn't have any other sugar after that but I'm going to try and be sugar-free today to make up for the lapse.

I love realising half way through a slice of cake, Cookie!  Absent-minded sugar - I think we've all been there!

Very surprisingly - a second day managed added sugar-free.  I honestly didn't think I'd be able to do it but it was a lot easier than Monday, although I allowed myself some cheese after dinner and I looked forward to having it because I knew I couldn't indulge myself with chocolate.  There was a big of a debate in my mind about 'only one' though, so I know I'm looking for an escape clause.
