Re: Voluntary Redundancy

Hi, I am leaving on VR next month, and I understand that the first £30k will be tax free, but will this will be included in my 2021/22 tax year as income?

thanks

    No , it's not

Some schemes offer to defer part of your redundancy to the next tax year to spread your liability .

No it's not income.  It's a while since I was made redundant, but I seem to recall that it should be left off your tax return.
