Credit Style ?

Has anyone else on this forum received demanding letters from Credit Style, with regard to a disastrous "relationship" with Tonik Energy ??

  • I've had a letter about my energy company before last and supposedly having an outstanding debt but no 'relationship'.

There are lots of current issues with Credit Style - a search will probably show them - but I can't recall seeing any relating to Tonik. It sounds very much as though CS have recently bought a whole load of old debts from various different defunct energy suppliers and are now trying to improve on the pennies-in-the-pound they have paid.

Usual rules apply - if you don't believe you owe anything, and if the correspondence is in writing rather than text, or via email, then send the Prove It letter. Don't add any more personal detail than strictly required.

  • 1/8/22 - Been receiving demanding letters for a paid bill since February. Sent prove it letter twice also stating they cannot go against the rules by chasing for debts which don’t exist.

Now getting more letters and SMS messages upping the threat. I’ve now reported to the FCA.

What a bunch of low-lives. Shame on you “Credit Stylers”. I’ll be charging for damages, loss of earnings, stress and psychological distress.
  • What can you do if they are charging for something from 2020 and you don’t have the bills ! I was with peoples energy, then stayed with them when I moved house. They are chasing debt for the previous house for the first time !

If you don't have the bills, you can ask them for a copy.

So I sent a prove it letter but now I’ve got a final demand and it’s going to solicitors in 14 days if I don’t pay. They don’t pick up the phone. I’m worried sick now. It’s from years ago but British Gas took over the account so why did BG close my account saying I owed nothing ???

Did you get a reply to your prove it letter, with evidence that you owe the money?
If not, I'd let them send it to their solicitors.
