How to move photos from "Images" to new folder on Anroid phone?

My wife has a bunch of photos she's taken on her Anroid phone which we would like to move to a new folder, primarily to make it easier to then back them all up to a USB stick and/or her Chromebook.  She has already created a new folder on Google Drive, which seems to be the only way to do that.  How do we move the photos to it?

Thanks, but I'm afraid that makes no sense to me.  How do I " ... make new folder on phone"?  Having done that, how do I "Cut and paste photos to new folder"?

ETA - problem now solved by working out another way of doing what I need to :)

within the gallery app of your phone (the app you go to to look at the pics taken), there should be top right (model dependant) a menu button. its usually three vertical dots. open that menu and there should be an option in there 'create new folder'.

hit that and name the folder something that means something to you. then go back to the main gallery and the thumbnail s of all your pics, long press the first one you want to move and a tick should appear in the thumbnail to show its been selected, then you can speedily touch any other pics to select them also. then go to the menu button top right again and select 'move to folder' (or similar) option. select the folder you just created (it will be in the list) and bingo!, your selected pics will now be in that folder instead of amongst all your other ones.

in future you can add to this album or create other new ones to keep your gallery nicely organised.
