Hi all,
Just sold my car that was on SORN, its the first time I sell a car and I am not sure I have done it correctly. I sold it to a car business
I have printed a sales contract from the AA and got them to sign it. Then the chap gave me the attached from the V5. I thought I should keep the V5 and send it to the DVLA but the chap insisted this is how it has to be done in this particular case. So they kept the V5.
I assume I just need to send the attached to the DVLA and problem solved...
Am I right?

If you sold to a trader, they should have left you the yellow slip to send to the DVLA, or you can do it online.1

This one? I need to send this to the DVLA right?

You can do it online which will be safer at present as DVLA have a massive backlog of post.

Tell DVLA you've sold, transferred or bought a vehicleSold your vehicle into the motor trade
You need the 11 digit reference number from the latest vehicle log book (V5C).
Give the log book to the buyer, including the green ‘new keeper’ slip.
Tell DVLA you’ve sold the vehicle using this service.
Destroy the yellow ‘sell, transfer or part-exchange your vehicle to the motor trade’ section from the log book.

It's a long time since I sold or transferred a vehicle so I have never used the online system. That confirmation may be immediate for an online notification.1 -
Just do it online. Takes seconds.
When you do, one of the choices is "Sold to motor trader". Do that. He needs the remainder of the V5C, you're left with the yellow slip.3 -
There is nothing "Dodgy" about this, you sold a car to a motor trader and he left you with the yellow slip which has his deatils on the onus is on you to inform dvla that you have sold your your car to a motor trader this can be done via post or online.“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

Yes, that's why it's printed at the top of the yellow slip ...
