Insurance at university

Can’t find an upto date post on this subject. My d.d is going to uni next month. What is the insurance situation? Do the halls have insurance, does this need topping up to suit d.d? Buy specstudent insurance or look at my home insurance! Thank you

My halls never had insurance and we were always encouraged to buy our own, but I'd check with the university first to make sure. I always used Endsleigh as they were the easiest to arrange room cover with (some providers will only cover an entire property) and we got discounted cover offers in our welcome packages.

Check your home insurance - ours covers our student daughter for when she is away.
