Started using E10 for the first time
Im very worried to be honest as it potentially is offering 20% less mpg... Is this even possible to be that much less? What have other people found? Im not sure if its purely a E10 issue or somit else? Either way future looks expensive if this the sort of reduction i am expecting. 😐

20% lower mpg?
Fuel economy
Using E10 petrol can slightly reduce fuel economy (the number of miles you are able to drive on a gallon of fuel). You may see a reduction of around 1%, but it is unlikely to be noticeable in everyday driving.

All that's happened so far is that some retailers are changing the stickers on pumps in advance. E10 fuel isn't actually arriving for another month or two.Im very worried to be honest as it potentially is offering 20% less mpg...
Just pause and think about that for a moment...
How on earth can moving from 5% ethanol to 10% increase consumption by 20%?
We've been using E5 - up to 5% ethanol - since unleaded came in in the 80s.
Between the 20s and 60s, at least one brand was selling 25% ethanol petrol as a performance alternative. In other countries, E85 (85%) has been available for years. Is this even possible to be that much less?
No.What have other people found? Im not sure if its purely a E10 issue or somit else? Either way future looks expensive if this the sort of reduction i am expecting. 😐
E10 has been the only petrol available in the US for decades, and widespread across many European countries for a decade or so. In some European countries, it's the only petrol available, or has a majority of the market.
Toyota say every post-98 petrol car they've sold new in Europe (except for a couple of rare exceptions) is compatible.

I own a 1.33l Yaris which has been running on E10 depending on where I buy fuel. A filling station locally has had E10 on the pump for ages. I tested a sample and it is indeed 10% Ethanol. Although Essar state they are preparing for it and welcome it?In spite of that I achieve a consistent 45 - 50+ m.p.g. whether using the E10 or E5. Very little impact on consumption whichever.Your handbook will advise Ethanol compatability.I do remove the Ethanol for my classic car and very occasionally add any left over into the Yarisssssss tank. Consumption remains the same.20% difference, doubtful."Your vehicle can use gasoline mixed with 10% max ethanol. The use of fuel with more than 10% ethanol content (E10) will damage the vehicle’s fuel system. You must ensure that refueling is carried out only from a source where fuel specification and quality can be guaranteed."The above from my handbook.

No, you didn't.
Your measuring is probably off-wonk. E10 is not being supplied in the UK yet.0 -
Do you think theres something else wrong with car then? What could it be? As its reallllly drinking now. Seems drastic. Pumps are showing E10 and i could only guess it was that 🤷🏻♀️0

Beyond that, though...

No, because E5 is E10, but E10 is not E5.
E10 is "up to 10%". E5 is "up to 5%". Fuel with 5% is covered by "up to 10%".
All that's happened so far is that the pump labels have been changed.0
