Passport application timescales

Has anyone on here got any recent experience with adult passport renewals?

I applied on 21st July with my old passport being received by Glasgow office on 23rd July.

There's been no progression at all from that point.

The official line is up to 10 weeks, but lots of people online reporting straightforward renewals coming back in around 15 days, which is pretty much now for me.

I'm meant to be on a UK cruise later this month but starting to lose hope. I'd really appreciate if anyone who has renewed recently could tell me how long theirs took.

Did you renew online? Mine took about 2-3 weeks from submission to new passport in the mailbox at beginning of July.

Can you track the status online to see where the application is at?

Yes it was done online.

The tracking is still showing "Documents Received". But there's people on twitter reporting that their application has gone straight from that to passport approved and then passport printed without any interim steps.

It's just been approved now. So I'm hoping it should get printed and despatched later today. 😀

I applied for renewal on 24th July and my passport is also showing "documents received". Don't try phoning. There is a high volume of calls message and the line goes dead.

What date were your documents received and what office did you have to send your old passport too?

I sent them on 25th to Durham. Received on 30th

Just seen your post about receiving approval message. Thats great.
