I have just been sent a parking charge notice for over staying at Moto Rugby.  The date of issue of this notice was 13/07/2021 and it arrived yesterday 4/8/2021.  If I pay within 14 days i.e. 27/7/2021 then the fee is reduced to £60 otherwise its £100.  As it was impossible to meet the deadline I have sent a letter and the £60.  So by sending a letter which arrives 8 days after the deadline it was always impossible to meet it.  I think this is fraud.  Has anyone else experienced this situation.  If we go to court I will demand proof of postage.

There was never any reason to pay this. It was easily appealable and the likelihood of a cancellation at that early stage was strong.  Can you cancel the cheque?  

If they refuse it because they want £100, hopefully they will return your £60, then we can possibly get you back on track, although much will rest on exactly what you said in your covering letter to them. Can you reproduce it verbatim here for us to see. Paraphrasing it will be of no help to us (or you).

I just had a similar situation for overstaying at another Moto MSA from Cowboy Parking Plus/ Group Nexus

Date of crime - 3/7/21
Issue date of PCN - 10/7/21
Arrival of PCN to home address  -  20/7/21

They seem to be backdating PCNs so they are within the 14 day limit from the incident date. As you can see my PCN arrived after 17 days but I would have no way of proving that. Another dirty trick by the PPCs!!

Makes no difference to me as I have zero intention of paying it anyway. I don't know who was driving at the time! 

Shame you paid but if it makes you feel any better I fully expect they will accept the £60. If it happens again complain to MOTO CEO and Commercial Manager as per several other threads on here.

Also please complete the Government consultation on private parking to curb the excesses of the PPC scammers.

Did you not realise that this was a scam?  Have you read the newbiws?.

If you think that fraud has been committed complain to Trading Standards, also to your MP.

An easy £60 pocketed by the scammers. One reasoned email to MOTOs Commercial Manager detailing your anger and upset at the predatory behaviour of these parasites along with the threat of never using any MOTO Services again would’ve resulted in this PCN being cancelled straight away.
