Watersure schemes automatic eligibility?

we've applied for UC and are awaiting our first payment next week, I've spoken to our water company and they advised it might be worth applying for their water sure scheme as my husband has eczema, we're under the amount they would cap it at for the year by a few pounds so I was wondering what evidence is needed for this scheme as if we have to pay for evidence from the doctors it might not be worth the time going through an assessment phone call they have requested before I can put in the application form?

A quick google search gave me this.

    How to apply for WaterSure

You can apply for WaterSure by filling out a form from your water company. You will need to supply evidence that you qualify, such as a copy of your awards notice for a benefit.

You'll need to provide evidence of your medical condition from your doctor, including how the condition is treated and the effect it has on how much water you use.

Some companies will accept a stamp from your GP confirming your medical condition. There is space on the end of the form for a stamp, which the GP will usually give free of charge. You should check your supplier will accept a stamp before sending your application.

If your water supplier won't accept a stamp, you'll need to pay for a doctor's certificate. Some water suppliers will reimburse the cost of the certificate.

We applied a few years ago for Aqua Care+, as assumed it would be cheaper, and it wasn't until recently (researching moving out) that I learned it would only save money compared to the standard tariff if we used 75+ units a year.
This figure was told to me by my water company it is not published on their website.

Looking at past bills we were way under this so contacted the water company, who switched us to standard tariff and even backdated it to the last bill (5 months prior) meaning we were in credit for the next bill.

I will also be going for the standard tariff when I move. And then asking after a year or so if there is a cheaper option based on my usage.

So you may want to ask them for some figures based on your past usage for the different tariffs you would qualify for such as water sure and standard.

I checked and they said it's borderline so it certainly wouldn't cost us money but would only save us money if we started using more water, we ve got a young child so would be using more as they get older and stop fitting in a baby bath anymore.
