Hi all
I booked a 2 night spa break for the end of December 2020 (prepaid in full)
It was cancelled due to lockdown and also my rescheduled bookings in Feb and March were also cancelled.

I'm finally booked to go next weekend. Today I received an invoice asking me to pay an additional £50 summer supplement as I booked it originally in the winter.

This doesn't sit right with me as I was physically unable to go until the summer - hotels didnt open until mid may!

Any thoughts? Surely this breaks some sort of coronavirus laws?

Thanks

Edit: I rescheduled this a couple of months ago and wasn't advised at this time about having to pay any extra

many people are having to pay a price difference when rebooking travel related...eg flights, whilst airlines may waive the change fee, if the new price is higher the difference would need to be paid. Holidays that have increased in price from this year to next year.
As it sounds like you would have been due a refund initially, if you had used that cash refund to rebook the new dates would the cost have been the same as originally paid or would it be £50 more?
If you don't want to pay the extra could you look for a future 'winter' date to move to that would not have this additional cost?

I suppose that makes sense. Just feel disappointed with the situation being told a week in advance rather than at the time of rescheduling.

Cant even speak to a real person only email correspondence taking a few days to reply each time.

    Thanks anyway

Many establishments have different price structures for peak and off peak season. Nothing new. Understandably having suffered months of lost income the owners will wish to make the most of the summer peak . No one knows what the future holds either.

You could rebook for another winter date to avoid the peak season extra?
