Ebay funds on hold

Options
I've been selling bits and bob's on Ebay for years now, I've recently sold some items and ebay has done the whole funds on hold thing! The items I'm waiting to be paid on must of been delivered by now but I've had no feedback, is it bad if I contact the buyer to ask if they've recieved them yet? The money adds up to nearly £100 and we could really do with the money to be honest 🙈

Have the been delivered?  Were they tracked?  If yes you can get in touch with live chat and get them to release the funds.  Otherwise it's probably better not to annoy the buyer IMO.

Im new to this new way if ebay and the I'm not liking it, however I've found that when my items get delivered the money is released.  I only send my items by 2nd class recorded postage though as I had too many people claim that didn't receive their items.

How long ago was this, and what frequency are your payouts set to?  The money takes a few days to be available and then if your payouts are set to weekly, for example, it could end up taking over a week from the sale.

Incidentally, if your items are parcel sized and worth £20 or less, standard parcel postage has a reference number which gives online confirmation of delivery.  You only need Signed For if you're sending letter sized items (for delivery confirmation), or if your items are worth over £20 (SF is insured up to £50).

Payments are set to daily. I sent the items off on 28th, signed for but 2nd class. It just annoys me how long some of the money takes to go into my account typically when I really could do with it!!

Does it say delivered on the SF status?

Was it one parcel for £100? Something £100 would not be fully covered with SF.  You are better off using Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Signed for (recorded no longer exists) is only useful for parcels over £20 or large letters which do not otherwise carry any delivery confirmation. Your £1 extra (which equates to around £1.22 after fees) eats into your profit and all you get for your money is a squiggle on the track and trace as RM do not require the recipient to sign for anything anymore. Standard parcels give delivery confirmation which is good enough for ebay.
