Wedding Album: A Cheaper Alternative?

Hi all

We recently got married and are looking to have our professional photos put into an album. Our photographer has offered us a 20 page 8 inch booklet for £350 pounds. However, it's way beyond what we would be willing to pay for that sort of thing.

Can anyone give any alternative suggestions or companies that might be able to provide us with high quality printed albums?

Many thanks

In the spirit of money saving - cheapest alternative is to not bother - or if you have been provided with a copy of all the photos on a pen drive or disc, you can compile a video montage of these and set to music, like the entrance/exit music or first dance. There are lots of websites available which are free or cost very little to do this yourself.

It's also possible for you to just get selected high quality photos printed using the images available on your photography disc/pen.  Most photographers will provide you with a copy of all the photos if you don't opt for an album, because if they didn't, what would be the point in having them taken on the day?

I'm sure others will be able to give advice on services to use if you really must have an album - but really, honestly, how often will it be looked at?

I did my own album using one of the (many) online photo albums. There's so many, just Google.

I got the largest I could, choose glossy pages and paid extra for lie flat pages (so there's no bend at the spine so I have a couple of ultra huge double spread pics).

The beauty with this is I have included the funny guest photos they took on their phones, and I would have a memory of otherwise.

You can add your own background - so I photo'd our wrapping paper, as a way of including that, and some hand written gift tags etc - you can do so much..

Can remember the cost but under £50.i have them for our honeymoon and other holidays too.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Another option i to simply buy prints of the photos you like and put them in an album the old fashioned way!

You would need to check your contract with the photographer but assuming that you have paid for the photos then you should be able to make your own album, and to include additional candid and non-professional pictures,  as you like.
