best colour laser printer to buy with cheap toner

looking for a laser printer with cheap toner
for kids homework and mainly text, photo would be secondary.... but need something cheap and cheerful
any reccomendations

i had a dell laser printer which recently went bust and toner was under £20
currently trying out hp instank ink but i dont think its worth it in long run

    "Colour laser printer" and "cheap and cheerful" tend to be mutually exclusive.  You can get colour lasers from about £200 but I wouldn't call that cheap.

    Once lockdown came we bought a HP107w about £100 from Argos. 

    For what we use it for its excellent.  It was even used as an emergency printer at my wife's office for a week with no problems.

    That's a mono printer.  OP wants colour.

    An irregularly-used laser printer is probably actually better than an irregularly-used inkjet printer. :)

    Brother  inkjet left on self clean last very well but use ink when not used.

    3 years+ with my A3 version 
    MFC-J6530DW

    Still not hit £100 purchase and ink.
