Pink blob on pregnancy test

Hi
I took a cheap strip pregnancy test this morning as period is due in a few days. A pink blob appeared straight away, where the positive line would be. Any ideas what this might mean? I'm reluctant to keep testing, but wondered if anybody else has ever had this happen and what the outcome was?

could be a void test. I'd re-test0

I would to keep testing, personally, I had no idea these home tests could fall under inconclusive/invalid.
(I did home testing but mine was for menopause couple of months ago and at £10 a test kit I didn't think it was cheap but no clear result came of it (silly me thought much other reviewers were a-joking about test quality) though if I recall the instructions said to discard looking any more at test once 15 mins had past, during which I just could not tell if the 2nd line needed for positive was just getting fainter and fainter until it disappeared, definitely a head spinner.) One line in right window least meant I hadn't done test wrong, further read up on why invalid result was that I get the understanding these tests can go out of sinc depending on where you are at in your cycle/existing hormones and you can end up testing at just the wrong time regrettably.

Interesting. It’s where the line should be so I would retest tomorrow and see what happens. Good luck.
I had some of those cheap strips and after 8 years of trying I had the faintest line appear. The next day I did a proper pregnancy test and it was positive. he’s coming up 15 now, sadly we never got lucky again but I still thank god everyday I got the chance to be a mum.

I have these tests, I bought them from Amazon and I was surprised to see that they worked fine. I would re-test too but give it more time. If you can wait until a few days after your period was supposed to start then do that.0

we used to us those ones in the NHS, they came in vast boxes and cost something like 30p each - am sure if one of them did that we would have done another one.0
