MBNA balance transfer error

I made a balance transfer back in May from a Virgin to MBNA card, it was all approved and i then had a message from MBNA to say it had been rejected and to contact them which I did. They told me they weren’t able to see what had happened and that I should call Virgin, which I did. They were clueless, they hadn’t had the funds back. Fast forward to Aug and I have just received a call from MBNA to say that this was an error on their part affecting a number of customers - they want me to check with virgin to see if the money has gone back on that card and let them know, if not they will set me up another interest free card with the the balance….has anyone else experienced this - what did you do??

Really? I'm gonna take the bait. What did you do?
Did you check back with Virgin again, are the funds back on YOUR Virgin credit card?
If you owe neither side the money then you've hit the jackpot.
