The point exactly. Our occupancy is excellent. Dont want other hotels selling on the grounds that "somewhere nearby" has somewhere you can chargeNick Hampson0

Indeed. Cheap solution to start with to gauge demand, upgrade if it works out.0

Loads of home chargers have locking / pin systems in place etc to stop unauthorised use. There are plenty of choices on the market. Not really a dilemma.0

But OP is buying a EV themselves.[DELETED USER] said:Cheapest option would just be a basic 3kW charger and a switch indoors so your staff can turn it on after someone has parked there and paid.
It will be wired into your consumer unit and adding a switch is trivial, if they don't fit one anyway (my domestic one has a switch).
This is a great idea, by the way. I often look for hotels with chargers.
So might as well get something that will give the best charging speed to themselves. Depending on their car usage, it may be worthwhile installing a 2nd one if they do a lot of miles that requires charging everyday. If not then just run on one to start & see how demand goes.
Which I guess will depend on exactly the OP is based.Life in the slow lane0 -
FWIW public charging where I live is charged at £0.19KwhDrEskimo said:
Nope, sounds like a simple and elegant solution!
Will you provide any markup on the cost to charge, or simply charge what ever your electricity provider charges you at?
Typically around £0.15/kWh, but I certainly wouldn't begrudge paying around £0.20/kWh for the privilege.0 -
