7 Seater electric SUV ULEZ Zone

Due to the expansion of ULEZ Zone, I have till end of Sept 21 to sell my diesel Nissan Qashqai +2 and getting a ULEZ complained replacement. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 young children, grandparents come up stay with us a couple of months per year therefore we will need a 7 seater. We drive less than 10 miles per day, mainly school run, supermarket run, tennis, swimming etc, mostly local trips. Occasionally we will go on road trip, not too often though.
I struggle to find any 7 seater fully electric car in the market. I believe the technology is still developing, battery is not big enough for a 7 seater SUV for most of the cars, lots of online news tells me that in the next year or 2 there will be a few 7 seaters become available. It will be great if we can go straight from our diesel Qashqai to a reasonable price/mileage electrical car. We worked out our options, not sure which one will be the right one though.
1) Sell Qashqai + get a cheap petrol 7 seater till the ideal 7 seater electric car (under 30k, over 300 miles per charge) becomes available.
2) Sell Qashqai + get a 7 seater hybrid car ( ie vovlo xc90 2nd hand £40k plus min)
3) Sell Qashqai + get a Skoda 7 seater electric car ( not my ideal car, still cost £40k plus for a decent battery size)
4) Sell Qashqai + get a brand new Tesla 3 (5 seater , £41k ex stock), swap to the new Tesla Y (around £50k won't be available till next year this time) . I was told Tesla depreciation rate is very low?
5) Option 5? I run out of options
Due to covid, there is a longer than usual waiting list for new cars across all manufacture, I won't be able to get most of the cars till after ULEZ kicks in. What will be my best option right now? Thanks a lot.

I presume your Q+2 is a pre-Euro6 diesel? 2012ish or earlier?
Why are you ruling out the most obvious answer? Buying a slightly newer equivalent as a longer-term stopgap? It's going to be a good few years before a <£30k, 300-mile charge 7-seater EV hits the market.
There's plenty out there - remember, Euro4 (2004-ish) onwards for petrol, Euro6 (2013-ish) onwards for diesel. And, no, that won't move... Euro6 is the current emission standard, and Euro4 was when the petrol NOx standards hit the current diesel figure. Taking your XC90 thought - there's a good choice of ULEZ-compliant ones for a lot less than £40k.1 -
If you generally do around 10miles/day and only rarely do a road trip, why the need for a big battery?
I agree though, maybe just go for a cheap petrol run around until you feel there is a good EV option in the used market.
Alternatively, if you can make do with 5 seats, go for a much cheaper second hand EV. Something like a 41kWh Zoe (battery owned) or 40kWh Leaf will set you back around £15-17k today.0 -
The Q2+2 stopped production in 2013, IIRC. I couldn't find anything newer than a 13 plate when I was looking.
Unless I wanted to spend a lot of money on a new car, I'd just be looking at a slightly newer X-Trail or Zafira.
Or I'd just buy a 5 seater and hire a 2nd or use alternative transport when the grandparents are over and you need all 7 seats.

Ah, they didn't do a 7-seat version of the second-shape Qashqow?

Kia Sorento - we had a 7 seat version which was fine for occasional use0

What about saving a lot of money and trade your Kumquat in for something like a late used 7 Seat Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Rifter/Vauxhall Combo Life. (they are all pretty much identical apart from the badge)
Latest model petrols and diesels will be ULEZ compliant.
If you really want electric I think they are now all available as EV's with 50kw batteries from around £34k for a 7 seat new.

it doesn't need to be electric to be ulez compliant, you can have a euro4 petrol which was made from 2005. everyone is buying hybrids and electrics and driving up prices for electric vehicles when they don't need it.

Do you even need a 7 seater? Given the very short distances you are talking about, could you do 2 trips?
