Warranty on replaced item

My Mira Mode Digital Mixer Thermostatic Shower Valve & Controller purchased from Mira during 2016 carried 5 years warranty. The warranty has now expired – June 2021. This unit was replaced under the existing warranty during 2018. The unit has now packed up. I want to know whether the replaced unit carry its own warranty, i.e. 5 years? Mira are adamant that the replaced unit is/was under the original/existing warranty that expired in June 2021.

If that's the terms of the warranty, Mira are correct.  You need to check the warranty wording to see if they're correct, but I bet they are.  I've yet to come across a warranty that provides rolling replacements where the clock stops and starts each time the unit is repaired or replaced.  That wouldn't be a good business model.

Nearly always a warranty runs from the original purchase date only.
