Timescales for Contract pack from seller?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some advice? I am a first-time buyer and I had an offer accepted on 7th July. I really like this flat and I am terrified of the sale falling through somehow, I am very anxious. I have a conveyancer but they are not really communicating with me. The memorandum of sale has been sent, my mortgage has been fully approved, but I am still waiting for the contract pack (for some reason the conveyancer won't start the searches until this has been received as they say they need information from the pack to start the searches). The memorandum of sale was received on the 14th July. Am I right in saying the contract pack should be with us by now? The conveyancer's admin said that they have emailed the EA about this when I emailed them last week. Should I chase them again? Would it be inappropriate to chase the EA directly?

Is there a vendor chain involved?

I think so- the sellers have had an offer accepted, and when I asked about that purchase, the EA said the people they are buying off are looking still.

So in that case I would not spend any money on searches until the chain is complete. Depending on how long this takes I would also keep looking at other properties that are chain free. As the length of chain increases so does the likelihood of problems down the line.

OK thanks, I will just hold tight for now and not chase then.
