I've paid sub-£25 for a PCR test in certain countries earlier this year (travelling for work) through a local clinic, so never assume a UK company is always cheapest, even on a deal. I have no idea of local Spanish charges for PCR tests.

£81 seems quite reasonable to me for an all in testing package in any event.

What would be more reasonable is if GOV.uk said thanks for getting vaccinated, evidence of that will do as entry to the UK. And if you want to be responsible take a free NHS test. In fact we'll dish them out at the border. Especially from countries which have a lower rate of covid than the UK, and are quite happy for us to go there with our UK vaccine certificate in hand.

They want to test for variants, hence the Day 2 PCR not lateral flow tests upon arrival. Lower rate countries does not equal zero risk.
