"I have today been threatened with being taken to court."

Is that letter titled "Letter Before Claim"?

Will this have an impact on my credit rating.
Only if it went to court, you lost then refused to pay what the Judge ordered by the deadline given. It's just not going to happen.

Given the circumstances you've outlined, I'd send First Parking a formal Letter Before Claim detailing the series of errors they have made, giving them 14 days to cancel the charges or you will issue a county court claim for £500 for misuse of your personal data and ongoing harassment.

I'd attach this judgment to the LBC to make sure they're sufficiently 'interested' to not ignore you.

    Issuing a LBC advice.

There are plenty of other examples via a Google search.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
