What Small DFW Things Will You Do This Week 02/08/21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Afternoon folks

Oh my it's already August!
Sorry for being awol last week, been feeling a bit off. I've done a covid test and that's ok but it's my bad ear - might have a small ear infection dt hayfever. I will see how it goes but will go to the docs if need be next week.
In exciting news, I have just discovered my first cucumber on my plant! Other than that, just work and keeping my hands on my pennies

Hi all,@jadewest94, if all 3 of those cucumber plants grow, you will have plenty of cucumbers!Busy day today:Dog walk first thingHousework, loads of itShopping at LidlUpdated spending diaryFed tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines and beansPicked a few berries (various, enough for breakfast tomorrow), a couple of tomatoes and a load of beans, French and runnerBBC Good Food creamy courgette lasagne for dinner yesterday as well as today - it is gorgeous, and great to make if you have loads of courgettes. I adapted the recipe, used mozzarella instead of ricotta as that is what I had, added a bit more cheese than the recipe said, and used home made tomato sauce as I don't like the bought sort, but it is a brilliant way of using up 700g of courgettes. It only needs a green veg or a salad on the side. Needless to say we had runner beans today!Chilly at the moment, definitely jumper weather!2

I hope so @DawnW I love cucumbers!
I'd like to be able to grow more fruit and veggies but my cat basically karate chopped my tomato plants!

Brrr, it is cold this morning, and feeling distinctly autumnal
I am wearing a fleece and had hot porridge, instead of cold cereal, for breakfast! Really hope the weather improves!
Working this afternoon, but I am planning to do the following:Dog walk (done)Peg washing back out on the line - I had to get it in after a short while yesterday as it rainedMake filling for pie I am intending to make for dinner tomorrow night, when I have invited DS and his partner and son - steak, onion and mushroom in nice gravy. I will do double the amount I need and freeze some for another time.RM surveys tasks(Yet) more houseworkNot very thrilling - hope it is busy at the shop this afternoon, as the time drags when it is slack!3 -
Evening all,
This evening I'm going to look for cheaper pet insurance currently for the dog and 2 cat's it's £71 a month. So will have a shop around. Also going to rebudget my payment plans with CCs as I plan on setting up an emergency fund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. @jadewest94 you are really good at earning extra money from surveys, focus groups etc. Could this form the basis of an emergency fund?

Morning folks
@jadewest94 - my cucumbers have only just started with female flowers so lots of time for yours
@DawnW - I know what you mean about that autumnal chill
Been to the gym this morning. I have cancelled my automatic paymenys on paypl as the owner of the gym is notorious for not sorting admin and I will end up paying extra if I don't cancel myself.
Working from home today to save those petrol pennies. I'm supposed to be having my jab tonight but I'm feeling a bit off in the stomach department... will see if it resolves
Have a good one all
