Will my benefits be affected?

My daughter has asked if her boyfriend can move in with us. They are both 17, he is working part time and only earning £60 Aprox weekly. I am self employed but earning very little due to being in travel industry so am currently claiming housing benefit, working and child tax credits. I have another child age 14.
My daughter is at college and received pip for disability and I also get carers allowance for her.
Sorry its complicated but was wondering if anyone knows if I allow him to move in how will it affect my current benefits? He is currently still living at home with his mum and I assume she is getting some sort of tax credits as a single person working part time. Would he become my dependent as still aged 17?

Your benefits won't be affected because he's under 18. Once he becomes 18 if he's not in full time education then your housing benefit will be reduced by £15.85 per week because of a non dependant deduction. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/housing_benefit_deductions_when_living_with_non_dependantsIf you're currently the only adult in the house and you're claiming the single person discount for countil tax, once he reaches 18 you will lose this, unless he's a student. If he's still in full time non advanced education and his mother is still claiming tax credits for him then she will need to report the changes if he moves in with you.
